In other news, I had been re-working the Ping Things Almost Live track
that I was going to release as a proper album, but I've changed my mind.
Instead I want to start work on something new altogether. The working
album title is "Sound Symbols", and I have no idea when I will wrap it up
but certainly hope to move forward with recording as it's been awhile.
You can download the exclusive Almost Live track from the Ping Things
website here:

In May 2008 Stephen Philips visited the Mysterium and we recorded several
hours of music. Stephen is working on releasing the music and I will
provide an announcement here, on my Numina MySpace page, and other
places around the net. Also, Check out the myspace page for newly added
photos and stuff. Photos from our live session can also been seen
here: Numina &
Philips live session May 2008
I joined the AtmoWorks website and my page there is located at http://atmoworks.ning.com/profile/Numina
Last but not least, it's a hopeful time here in the U.S. with the
presidential elections soon here. It's time this country gets its act in
gear and elects a person who can actually FIX this country, regain some
respect from other countries, help the middle class, improve its
environmental record, FIX the damage done to Iraq and get out of there,
and return to some sort of economic stability and the time is now to vote
for Obama/Biden!
Thank you,
Jesse

I also plan to start work on an entirely new solo album. I can't say for
certain what direction it will go, but it will likely be very dark...
Also, there may be a collaboration with Transcendent Device looming soon.
We have already collaborated on one, extremely limited, release, but may
put out a 2-disc set with the original release he worked on in early 2007
and new material from 2008/2009.
So, if things go as planned, I hope to wrap up several projects by early
2009 after which time it will likely be very quiet for a period while I
deal with ongoing personal matters.
Finally, and most importantly, I don't believe the original numinalist is
working anymore, so I created a yahoogroups e-list called "numinamusic".
Please join this list. It is a newsletter format and NOT a forum format,
i.e. no one other than myself willbe posting anything so you won't receive
spam or other junk - only news relating to Numina music, projects, etc..
The group can be accessed/joined here:

Thanks as always for all the great support and wonderful words of
encouragement and praise. It make my day.

Symbiotic spaces is a collection of previously unreleased material and a
few re-mastered tracks from the mp3.com days that are unavailable
elsewhere. The music on this collection spans 8 years and it's
been a wonderful musical journey for me. Many thank yous to the fans and
friends for the continued support and appreciation for the music I create.
I look forward to the next 8 years music!
In other news, "Symbiotic Spaces" is in the final stages of art production
and ready to go to print.
I knew very little of Dan's personal life, however he and I worked closely
on two collaborations. We were our first collaborators together with our
Starfarer's Tales series (Dan's vision and concept). It was a great
moment in time preparing and producing those albums with him. A very
talented and kind soul. I spoke with him on rare ocassion via telephone
but we had a lot to talk about and good stories to share.
Dan, you will be sorely missed. Your music will live on in our hearts and
ears and minds. Now you are travelling the great vastness of your visions
of space and enjoying the beauty of another realm. We'll see you soon my
friend.
R.I.P.

In other title-renaming news, I recently prepared a unique long-form piece
for the Ambient Ping Radio. Its title originally was "Symbiotic Space",
but just to make things confusing I'm changing the title of that to "Sound
Symbols". So, bear with me, choosing titles can be difficult at times, and
pretty much all of my releases have had title changes after discussing the
music under a working title name. "Sound Symbols" is something will be
released some time in 2007, but will be quite different than the version
that was playing on the Ping.
In other release news, "Shift to the Ghost" is still being finalized at
Hypnos Headquarters. Shouldn't be long folks. Keep your ears peeled.
I recently got an e-mail from an independent film producer whom several
years ago asked for some music and sound effect production. I sent him
some material and after a long wait I have learned his film has been
finished an can be downloaded here: http://www.cinematographer.tv/video/SarahsDemons.mov
Fin.
Here is the album cover for "Shift to the
Ghost"
As an added surprise, I've been working on a 2-CD release for Gestalt
Signals titled "Anabiosis" consisting of rare and unreleased material from
2000-2006. Including re-masters of some of the mp3.com tracks as well as
brand new songs. All of these tracks are currently unreleased and not
available anywhere. This will be released on Gestalt Art Forms (real CD)
with initial orders available exclusively only through numinamusic.com.
Also, due to demand and requests, I have re-issued my very first release,
"Dreamsleep". It is available as a slimline CD-R for $10.00 USD.
As always, thank you all for the contact, comments, and support.
Jesse
If that wasn't enough good news, due to popular demand and the desire, a
2-CD collection of previously unreleased material and new material will be
available some time in October or November on the Gestalt label. This
collection will consist of material which was available for download back
in the mp3.com days (and will be high-quality audio versions) with some
tracks being re-mixed and some brand new tracks both recorded recently and
recorded in the past.
Also, the 3rd collaboration release between Numina & IXOHOXI is nearing a
close. Watch here for news on this release.
First bit of news to report is a recent interview I did with Kristen
Tilbury from Deep Intense. You
can read the interveiw here: Numina
interview.
Secondly, an exclusive Numina track is featured on the Australian
compilation Chasing the
Dawn: Ultima Thule Ambient. Also featured on this comp are Kelly David, Steve Roach, and Robert Rich to name a few of the high
profile talents. Also by purchasing this CD you support a great readio
station based in Australia.
Currently, when time permits, I am working on the third collaboration with
IXOHOXI which is called Megaliths and Monoliths. A release date is not
confirmed but likely some time late summer or early Autumn.
I recently made a personal visit to Backroads Music near San
Francisco, CA. Please support Backroads by checking out their website and ordering a few CDs. It is a
great store and the only one of its kind in the U.S. with a diverse a selection and deserving of our support
within the electronic, ambient, ethnic music community.
I have submitted a new full-length release to Hypnos but have sat
idle on a few details with it. When I work things out on my end the
release will shortly get into production. It is a re-worked and extended
album which some of was featured as an exclusive mp3-based release with Blue Water Records.
The track has been reworked considerably but there are a few similarities,
however the Hypnos release will be re-titled. More news about this will
follow as soon as I pin down the final details.
My next plan is to begin working on a more tribal/rhythmic based release. I want to deeply explore this
territory more than I have in the past. Some well-known names may be contributing their mastery of acoutic
instrumentation. Many details are to be worked out, but it is my next course of action after wrapping up
with the IXOHOXI collaboration. This release may be put out on the highly regarded Spotted Peccary label some time in 2007. Once again, a great label
which deserves our support.
Tara VanFlower who I've worked with in the past a few
times has released a novel titled Violent
Violet.
Lastly, I made an update to the note about insurance costs. I continue to have a lot of trouble with mailing
to places outside of the U.S. 1 out of 5 or so packages to anywhere outside the U.S. either becomes lost,
stolen, or confiscated by customs. I do not understand what is going on but the post office says it's a
lost cause to try and find out what happens to my packages. Due to this problem I may ask that anoyone
ordering outside the U.S. wanting to purchase a larger order pay a $20.00 insurance fee (which is the actual
cost to me) in addition to the shipping fees and/or pay for delivery confirmation which means you will have
to be available to sign for your package. I am unable to keep sending two orders out, it's simply too
expensive for me. However, I will always replace your order if something does happen, but may ask for a
partial payment for the replacement.
Thank you for reading and as always, I appreciate comments and
correspondence and support.

~ February 13, 2007 ~
Shift to the Ghost is now available! It's
a bit overdue, but it's here and available directly from Numinamusic.com
and Hypnos.com.

The third, and ultimately final collaboration between Numina & IXOHOXI
titled "Megaliths & Monoliths" is now available for release through
Numinamusic.com. This is, by all accounts, Dan Russo's final musical work
to be released and the last known that he had worked on. Rest in Peace,
Dan.
~ January 20, 2007 ~
It is with great sadness I report the passing of Dan Russo AKA IXOHOXI on
1/15/07.
~ December 6, 2006 ~
Work has wrapped up on my production of
"Symbiotic Spaces", a 2-CD release of 20 tracks, 15 of which are
previously unreleased and the other 5 tracks have been re-mastered - these
5 tracks were previously were released on mp3.com back in the old days
when it was good. Note that the title of this 2-CD release has changed.
I orignally planned to title the album "Anabiosis" but I felt that title
was too cold or medical sounding. In fact, "anabiosis" means 'a bringing
back to consciousness; reanimation after apparent death' which is why I
originally chose that title - in the sense I re-vived some old tracks that
I had worked on over the years and brought them back to life with new
mixes and mastering.
~ September 29, 2006 ~
Greetings. I hope you're all
enjoying the Fall/Autumn weather. This is an update to announce a few
things. First, "Shift to the Ghost" is in the hands of Hypnos and is
currently being mastered. A special thank you to Kati for the magnificent
artwork for the cover. Hopefully this will be released some time no later
than the end of November.

~ July 28, 2006 ~
The forthcoming album on Hypnos will officially be titled "Shift to the
Ghost". It is a long-form piece with indexed track points and each song
is distinctly different than the other but the songs evolve seamlessly
into each other. The concept for the album was originally produced for a
long-form mp3 release with StillStream.org and working with that core
track I re-mixed and extended the piece to become something more thorough
than the original long-form piece. This album in many ways is about the
life and death of the physical self, hence the title "Shift to the ghost".
No solid release date at this time is available, but the master and
artwork has been settled. Hopefully a release some time in September will
happen.
~ July 3, 2006 ~
Greetings. I must apologize for the long delay in updating this news
section. Many of you probably think I fell off the face of the earth, of
course that may be appropriate for a "space" musician. Truthfully, not
much news has occurred until just recently which really is the reason
for the delay in addition to several personal concerns which quite
honestly has stifled any motivation to maintain things with regard to
my music. Alas, life must go on and those who are now passed would
want the music and creativity to continue.
I have to add the following information on the order page in order to make
it clear that ALL FOREIGN ORDERS MUST PAY SHIPPING FEES.
